Fundació Althaia, through IRIS-CC, has won the tender for the technical and communication management of the European Registry on Helicobacter pylori management (Hp-EuReg) project. The three-year contract includes the management of the online research platform REDCap, the evaluation of data quality, the monitoring of researcher participation and the implementation of the study’s communication plan. Hp-EuReg is part of the TOGAS (Towards Gastric Screening Implementation in the European Union) project, funded by the European Union’s EU4Health programme.
Anna Cano-Català, Technical Project Manager of the Gastrointestinal Oncology, Endoscopy and Surgery research group (GOES) at Althaia and researcher attached to IRIS-CC, is in charge of the management.
With a sample of more than 70,000 patients and nearly 400 active investigators, Hp-EuReg aims to assess the diagnosis, management strategies and treatment of adult patients infected with Helicobacter pylori across Europe. Helicobacter pylori is the most common chronic infection worldwide and is the main cause of diseases such as chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer.
